Qingyuan County has protected the ecological environment and has been named the “county with the best ecological environment in China”. The climate is tropical monsoon, warm and humid, with four distinct seasons and mild winters, abundant rainfall and no extreme summer heat. A large temperature difference between day and night results in extremely favorable natural conditions for maitake production.
